For the last 13 years, artist Liz Shewan has been expressing the sense of freedom, exploration and healing through her artwork. In particular she has explored many genres of alternative motivational healing methodologies expressing this through her work, both from a microscopic and macroscopic perspective, offering connection to nature and a sense of hope to the viewer.

She loves depicting animals, nature and people. Walking in the countryside with her dog she finds herself remembering moments and portraying them in a rather naive illustrative way; with swirly magical trees and the breath of the wind moving in the skies; and our beloved loyal and best friend, the dog, always being a feature. She express the sense of family and relationships; and variations on the theme of the statement of 'Light at the end of the Tunnel' .

She both paints and sculpts, often combing the two. Where possible she will recycle frames and canvases.

Liz Shewan was born in Sao Paulo in Brazil - a place that still holds a special place in her heart.

Liz has always been fascinated by watching ... always taking photographs as she did so. She found this easier than sketching - which is the same now. On and off Liz was always painting and sculpting throughout most of her life - never leaving it for long when life took her in different directions. When she left school she took a Foundation Course and studied photography at the West Surrey College of Art and in the late 1980’s.

Liz Shewan has exhibited her work throughout the United Kingdom, including the Mall Galleries and Will’s Art Warehouse, London; Pierrepoint Gallery, Bridport; a temporary gallery co-op she established in Somerset; Jane Fuest Gallery, Alresford; and the Affordable Art Fairs in Battersea Park and Bath.

She has a list of international clients, the numbers of which keep growing year by year. Her work is loved by art lovers, animal lovers, spiritually minded, collectors and those looking to take their first steps into the world of fine art.
